Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide critical content development at NASA-JSC in support of the Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation (CoECI). CoECI collaborates with innovators across NASA, the federal government, and global communities to solve complex challenges through crowdsourcing. It aids in executing public prize competitions, freelance tasking, technology searches, and other open innovation methods. This position is a teleworking position that requires occasional travel. Incumbent must have a technical communications background, preferably with experience communicating open innovation topics, be process oriented with an attention to detail, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate will develop content for the CoECI team that highlights the use of open innovation tools to meet technical needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop content to market CoECI’s services and the use of open innovation tools to NASA and other Government Agencies.
- Write content, web features, emails, Frequenty Asked Questions (FAQs), talking points, and presentations in support of CoECI-related activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategic communications plans for the CoECI team.
- Identify new communications tools and processes to align with overall program strategy and goals.
Position Requirements:Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations
- Minimum 2 years experience in graphic design
- Minimum 2 years’ experience creating content for a variety of customers
- Minimum 1 year experience in a collaborative, teleworking environment
Required Skills/Training:
- Proficient in NASA Style Guide and NASA Graphics Handbook
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintain customer satisfaction
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with some direction
- Ability to provide a portfolio of previous relevant work that includes pieces specific to open innovation
List any required Security Clearances and/or Certifications if applicable
- Must Pass a NASA Background Check
- Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
