Content Specialist
Position Overview
The Content Specialist is responsible for creating compelling, high-quality written content that
supports the organization’s marketing and business objectives. This role focuses heavily on
developing original copy to attract, engage, and convert new leads and prospects, while also
supporting ongoing communication needs across multiple channels.
Working closely with the Communications & Marketing teams, the Content Specialist will create
monthly newsletters, marketing campaigns, digital content, and resort-specific materials that
strengthen brand presence and drive growth.
This position reports directly to the Brand & Content Manager and is based in Bay City,
MI.
**This is an in-office role requiring on-site presence five (5) days per week.**
Key Responsibilities- Create and manage monthly email newsletters, including content planning, drafting,
editing, and coordination with internal teams
- Draft marketing communications for use across email, web, paid media, social media,
and other digital channels
- Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing teams to develop new organic and
paid content aligned with campaign goals
- Curate and develop digital media content for resort locations, including promotional
copy, landing page content, and seasonal messaging
- Write clear, engaging, and on-brand copy designed to attract new leads and prospects
- Support content needs for campaigns, promotions, announcements, and special
initiatives
- Adapt messaging for different audiences, platforms, and stages of the customer journey
- Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and brand messaging across all content
- Assist with content calendars, brainstorming sessions, and creative planning
- Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and quality
Qualifications & Skills- Strong written communication skills with a clear understanding of persuasive,
marketing-driven copy
- Experience creating content for digital marketing, including email, web, and social
platforms
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and take feedback constructively
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Familiarity with content marketing principles, lead generation, and audience engagement
- Experience in hospitality, travel, lifestyle, or outdoor recreation content is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative environment
Preferred Experience- 2+ years of experience in a content, marketing, or communications role
- Experience working with email marketing platforms, CMS tools, or digital marketing
teams
- Understanding of SEO and paid media copywriting is a plus
