WHAT YOU WILL DO:

This role is focused on a strategic, hands-on content leader who understands that search is changing - and knows how to create content that performs in both traditional search engines and AI-driven discovery tools. This role translates business objectives into content strategies that feel authentic, discoverable, and shareable—while building a consistent brand strategy that ladders up to broader campaigns and growth goals.

As our Content Strategist, you'll develop and execute a modern content strategy focused on Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) by developing messaging frameworks and strategic guidelines that unify creative across social, owned, and earned channels.

This role goes beyond blog posts and landing pages - it's about structuring and packaging information so that it's visible, cited, and trusted by search engines, AI assistants, and customers alike.

In collaboration with marketing team, you will also develop and update content across written communications, videos/scripts, and digital content for use on the web and live delivery.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is also willing to execute content development in-house, significantly reducing reliance on external agencies. A background in technical content, engineering and / or manufacturing is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

Lead Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and guide solution-oriented storytelling that connects products, services, and customer needs across sectors. Create content frameworks that support full-funnel marketing and drive engagement.
  • Build and manage a strategic content roadmap that supports brand storytelling and sales enablement.
  • Own the end-to-end content strategy - from editorial planning to production workflows - across our websites, landing pages, social channels and sales content.
  • Build and manage a content calendar aligned with product marketing, demand gen, and SEO/AEO goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify content gaps, prioritize topics, and map them to the customer journey.

Create & Optimize for AI-First Discovery

  • Create and guide the development of whitepapers, case studies, landing pages, video scripts, multimedia assets including video, animation, and interactive content to enhance campaigns and increase engagement, in collaboration with the Marketing team.
  • Develop AEO-optimized content that directly answers high-intent buyer and user questions.
  • Apply structured content techniques
  • Experiment with emerging AI search tools and discovery platforms to extend content reach.

Measure, Analyze & Iterate

  • Monitor and analyze performance across organic, AI, and referral channels.
  • Translate insights into action by refining strategy and improving content formats.
  • Stay ahead of evolving search and AEO trends to keep PennEngineering competitive.

Requirements:

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5-10 years of content strategy experience, ideally in the B2B industrial space or in a fast-paced marketing team.
  • Proven success developing content strategies that drive awareness, organic engagement, and audience growth.
  • Strong grasp of how brand, creative, and media intersect across social, web, and earned channels.
  • Portfolio of demand-generating content and programs tied to measurable business outcomes
  • Experience briefing and producing written and multimedia content in partnership with internal teams or external vendors
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to translate performance data into actionable optimizations
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Gen-AI tools or automation to marketing workflows
  • Expertise in writing and structuring content for both humans and machines.
  • Strong editorial instincts with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Familiarity with tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. - and how to integrate AI into your workflow.
  • Ability to balance quick-turn execution with long-term brand storytelling.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a large scale, global environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in managing freelance writers or agency partners.
  • Background in journalism, technical writing, or UX writing.
  • Proficient in additional languages: German, Spanish and Chinese
