ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The content strategist at Avaya is the linchpin for our brand narrative and the company’s go-to-market strategy. The person in this role will understand our brand position and key marketing initiatives. Using this insight, you will be responsible for determining our content focus, key asset development, and activation timeframe.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for putting a content plan in motion, have excellent communication skills, be comfortable working with cross-functional teams, and above all else be an enthusiastic brand evangelist.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Make Avaya relevant and preferred by customers, creating a connection to our brand using the best means to showcase our value, our innovation, and our culture.
Help determine campaign initiatives that best amplify our brand promise, proof points, product offerings, and more — providing the focus for strategic content output.
Collaborate with creative, campaign, communications, and product marketing teams to create audience- and channel-specific activation plans.
Direct content development and execution across teams.
Leverage both internal resources and agency partners for creating content.
Work with the Creative & Editorial Director to develop messaging frameworks and creative briefs that support our marketing campaigns:
States the objectives for how the content will positively impact the brand and benefit our audience
Establishes a clear brand position and/or value proposition that sets Avaya apart from our competition
Defines the messaging pillars under which Avaya proof points and competitive strengths can be turned into copy points
Determines the value and outcomes by audience to ensure that content is engaging, compelling, and developed specific to persona(s)
Act as both content strategist and content producer.
Interview employees, partners, and customers to gain primary-sourced content.
Write copy for our website, social, blog, and other channels, as needed.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience in content creation
Knowledgeable in business technology, ideally with communications software and with cloud-based product offerings
Proven ability to understand audience needs and market sentiment; creates a strategy that successfully attracts decision-maker audiences (IT, LOB, etc.) at every stage of the funnel
Demonstrable experience with content strategy across digital marketing channels (web, social, other third-party)
Keen understanding of market and competitive analysis; ability to use data-driven insights to create content strategies
Must be an advocate for our brand and an expert on the value of our products and solutions for creating customer connection
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to pull together content and content contributors effectively
High degree of research, interviewing, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with online analytics tools such as Google Analytics; knowledge of SEO best practices
Ability to break down complex information and make it understandable and approachable
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
We are looking for an individual with a professional and enthusiastic attitude who is eager to develop innovative content strategies. With your skills and experience, you play an integral role in increasing brand awareness and trust while helping our sales teams and partners reach their business objectives.
The pay range for this opportunity is from $130,000 to $150,000 + performance-related bonus + benefits.
This range represents the anticipated low and high ends of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus that aligns with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and location.
