POSITION SUMMARY: Quincy College is seeking a skilled and creative Content Writer to craft compelling, student-centered messaging across all marketing channels. This role is responsible for rewriting academic program landing pages, supporting campaigns, managing blog content, and ensuring a consistent brand voice across platforms. The ideal candidate is a strategic and conceptual thinker who writes clearly and persuasively for digital, print, and social formats. As part of the Marketing team, this writer will help shape how prospective students see?and choose?Quincy College.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Content Strategy & Writing

Rewrite all academic program landing pages to ensure they are student-facing, persuasive, and aligned with Quincy College's voice and brand.
Write and edit copy for marketing campaigns, both digital and print, across a variety of formats (ads, email, social, landing pages).
Assist with content creation for flyers, brochures, and one-sheets, ensuring all materials are clear, cohesive, and student-friendly.
Collaborate with marketing team members and external partners to ensure alignment across campaigns and channels.

Blog Management

Partner with the blog specialist to develop and manage a blog content calendar (approx. 16 articles per year).
Support ideation, writing, editing, and review to ensure timely publication of high-quality content relevant to prospective students and key stakeholders.

Web Content Support

Manage and update website content through WordPress to ensure accuracy, consistency, and strong user experience.
Optimize written content for SEO and help improve discoverability through strategic use of keywords, headlines, and metadata.
Collaborate with web or design specialists on collaborate with web team to align content with page structure and design.

Brand Voice & Content Consistency

Help define and maintain a consistent brand voice across all platforms and media.
Review and improve existing content to ensure clarity, tone, and style remain student-centric.
Contribute to internal content guidelines and ensure content produced by partners follows brand standards.

Training & Compliance

Participate in mandatory training/coursework, including but not limited to:

Title IX and Sexual Misconduct
Sexual Harassment and Non-Discrimination
FERPA
Municipal Ethics Law
Security Reporting and Policies

Other Duties as Assigned

Contribute to ongoing content initiatives and marketing priorities as needed.
Stay informed of current trends in content marketing, education, and student recruitment.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None assigned - reports to Executive Director of Marketing.

TRAVEL:

Assignment/travel for both Quincy and Plymouth Campuses, Boston location as well as other local travel may be required.
Valid driver's license.


Job Requirements:


EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field required.
5-10 years of professional content writing experience, preferably in a marketing, communications, or higher education setting.


REQUIRED SKILLS & Qualifications:

Proven experience in writing for the web, including landing pages, blog posts, campaign messaging, and email marketing.
Strong conceptual and creative writing skills with the ability to craft compelling messaging for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in:

WordPress or similar content management systems (content updates, not back-end dev)
Microsoft Office Suite
Email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact or similar)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams and with subject-matter experts.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Familiarity with digital campaigns, social media platforms, and targeted content writing is a plus.
Working knowledge of SEO writing practices and content performance analysis tools.
Experience with or understanding of project management software (e.g., Trello, Asana) is a plus.
Sound judgment, creativity, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.
Interest in staying current with evolving content trends and digital marketing strategies.
Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
