Position: Content writer - Digital & Social Media

Department: Marketing / Digital

Location: Kolkata

Reports to: Marketing Lead

Mode: Full time, in office


Role Overview


We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Contentwriter to craft compelling, on-brand copy across our social media, paid ads – Google Ads, Meta Ads, e-commerce platforms, and CRM campaigns – Whatsapp, SMS, Emails. The ideal candidate will understand both creative storytelling and data-driven communication, helping us engage customers, drive conversions, and build loyalty.


Key Responsibilities


Social Media


* Write clear, concise and engaging copy for social media – paid and organic ads - hooks, posts, captions, and scripts tailored to each platform (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).

* Collaborate with design/video teams to develop thumb-stopping creatives.

* Adapt content to trending formats (Reels, Shorts, Stories, Carousels).

* Maintain consistent tone of voice while aligning with campaign goals.

* Create campaign one-liners with potential of virality


E-Commerce


* Develop SEO-friendly product titles, descriptions, and bullet points for marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) and brand website.

* Create A+ content / enhanced brand content for product listings.

* Write promotional copy for website banners, landing pages, and campaigns/sale events

* Ensure accuracy of product details and consistency across platforms.


CRM (Email, SMS, WhatsApp Marketing)


* Craft persuasive subject lines, body copy, and CTAs for CRM campaigns.

* Personalize messaging for different audience segments (new users, repeat buyers, lapsed customers).

* Align campaigns with lifecycle journeys (onboarding, promotions, retention, reactivation).

* Collaborate with CRM team to A/B test and optimize copy for open/click rates.



KPIs & Success Metrics

* Engagement rates (likes, shares, comments, saves) on social media.

* CTR & conversion rates on e-commerce listings and campaigns.

* Open rates, CTR, and conversions for CRM campaigns.

* Consistency in tone of voice and brand guidelines across all touchpoints.



Candidate Requirements


* Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

* 4-6 years of proven experience in copy/content writing (preferably in digital marketing/e-commerce).

* Strong grasp of social media trends, SEO best practices, and customer lifecycle marketing.

* Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive copy for multiple formats.

* Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush/Ahrefs, Mailchimp/Klaviyo, or similar.

* Excellent communication, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail


Preferred Skills


* Experience in FMCG, e-commerce, or D2C brands.

* Experience in both long content and short form of copywriting

* Understanding of performance marketing metrics and how copy impacts results.
