How you'll make an impact:

As a Continuous Improvement Manager, you’ll be a key driver of how we work smarter, safer, and more efficiently across Mill Rock Packaging. Based on site at either our Salt Lake City, Utah or Aurora, Colorado facility and reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you’ll help lead and develop lean programs that empower teams to identify and implement meaningful improvements for our Mountain Region plants (Salt Lake City and Aurora).

Your work will directly improve productivity, safety, quality, and cost, helping us deliver exceptional packaging solutions that make a real difference for our customers and our people.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you’ll combine hands-on leadership with coaching and systems thinking to build a strong culture of continuous improvement.

  • Lead and facilitate lean improvement efforts using tools such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Gemba, Value Stream Mapping, OEE, KPIs, policy deployment and more

  • Coach, train, and develop team members to lead improvement initiatives successfully

  • Provide lean orientation and on-the-job training, ensuring roles, responsibilities, and expectations are clearly understood

  • Identify ongoing improvement and training needs and help design and deploy effective learning programs

  • Oversee lean projects from concept through implementation, delivering measurable results

  • Partner with operations, safety, and operations teams to ensure safe, ergonomic, and sustainable improvement methods

  • Establish and track metrics to measure operational and financial impact against targets

  • Develop and maintain annual value stream maps, improvement plans, and calendars

  • Support external customers by contributing to value-added, production-focused improvement initiatives

What it takes to succeed:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Business, Engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience driving lean manufacturing and process improvements in a production environment

  • Strong working knowledge of modern manufacturing systems and lean methodologies

  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence at all levels in a manufacturing environment to drive change and results

Preferred Requirements

We value diverse backgrounds and experiences—they help us innovate and improve. These qualifications are nice to have, not required:

  • 2+ years of manufacturing or operations leadership/supervisory experience

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ASQ preferred)

  • Experience in folding carton or corrugated packaging, including finishing and printing processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Additional Lean Six Sigma certifications or related continuous improvement training
