Contract Advisor, Customer Contracting - Cura Script SD - Hybrid - St. Louis, MO

Cura Script SD is currently hiring a Contract Advisor. The Contract Advisor provides advanced professional input on complex contracting assignments and projects. Prepares, analyzes, reviews, and projects the impact of large or complex customer contracts and alternative contract terms. Conducts negotiations and drafts individual contracts. Works autonomously, requiring only “expert-level” technical support from others. Exercises judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting both standard and complex techniques and procedures. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to develop models and procedures and monitor trends within Provider Contracting. This position serves as an integral member of the Customer Contracting Team and reports to the Contracting Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage complex contracting and negotiations for pharmaceutical purchases and distribution with providers (e.g., hospital systems, ancillaries, and large physician groups).
  • Build relationships that foster stakeholder partnerships and explores opportunities to support the organization more broadly.
  • Initiate and maintain effective channels of communication with matrix partners, including but not limited to Finance, Contract Administration, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Contribute to the development of enterprise initiatives. Supports and provides direction for developing network analytics required for network solutions.
  • Create distribution agreements that meet internal operational standards and external provider expectations. Ensures accurate implementation and administration through internal team members.
  • Assist in resolving elevated and complex provider service complaints. Researches problems and negotiates with internal and external partners/customers to resolve highly complex and/or escalated issues.
  • Manage key internal relationships and is accountable for critical interfaces with Sales, Pharmaceutical Procurement, and Customer Operations staff.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely contract loading and submissions, and interfaces with matrix partners for network implementation and maintenance.
  • May provide guidance or expertise to less experienced specialists.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance, Economics, Healthcare, or a business-related field.
  • 3+ years of contracting and negotiation experience required. Preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies, including incentive-based models, is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and nurturing strong internal relationships with key partners.
  • Ability to influence both sales and provider audiences through strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with formal presentations is preferred.
  • Superior problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiating skills, along with strong contract language and financial acumen.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
