Contract Professional Engineer (PE) – Fuel Gas / Propane System Design

We are seeking a Pennsylvania-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for immediate engagement on ongoing fuel gas (propane) system design work.

If you have experience designing tank-to-burner propane systems and are able to stamp drawings in Pennsylvania, this is a straightforward opportunity offering consistent contract work.

Scope of Work

  • Design propane fuel gas systems (tank → regulators → burner)
  • Perform pipe sizing and pressure calculations
  • Develop complete drawing packages, including:
  • P&IDs
  • General layouts
  • Isometric drawings
  • Specify and design system components, including:
  • Slam-shut valves
  • Dual regulator (monitor/worker) configurations
  • Relief and overpressure protection systems
  • BOM
  • Provide basic support and civil design details (equipment pads, pipe supports, etc.)
  • Review and stamp drawings for compliance within Pennsylvania

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania
  • Demonstrated experience with propane (LPG) or fuel gas system design
  • Familiarity with NFPA 58
  • Ability to execute work efficiently and independently
  • Must have and utilize your own design tools and software (e.g., CAD, calculation software, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asphalt plants or burner systems
  • Practical, field-based installation knowledge in addition to design experience

  • Competitive hourly or per-project rates
  • Compensation will reflect experience, efficiency, and quality of work
