gener8tor is a nationally ranked venture capital firm and accelerator. gBETA is a 7-week free accelerator program to help build and scale startups. Learn more: www.gener8tor.com/gbeta. This is a contractor role built to engage an experienced leader to run two gBETA Main Street cohorts for Indiana small and medium-sized enterprises (“SMEs”). These programs focus specifically on helping SMEs explore exit and growth opportunities. We are seeking someone who can immediately take ownership of the program, bringing hands-on experience growing and operating Main Street SMEs with an eye toward exit, whether through acquisition, entrepreneurship-through-acquisition, or other SME sale strategies. We expect this role to deliver high-impact programming within a defined timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, mentors, investment bankers, business brokers, investors, corporate partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between founders, stakeholders, and gener8tor.
  • Recruit, vet, and select SME participants for gBETA Main Street cohorts.
  • Plan and execute two gBETA Main Street cohorts focused on SME exits, following gener8tor’s curriculum and best practices.
  • Adapt and co-develop gener8tor’s curriculum and best practices to fit Main Street SMEs that are interested in exploring exit opportunities.
  • Introduce mentors and potential buyers/investors (searchers, acquirers, funds) to participating founders.
  • Engage with Indiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, positioning yourself as a trusted resource for mentorship and connections.
  • Provide concierge-style support to founders, including 1:1 meetings twice per week.
  • Be a steadfast advocate and cheerleader for participating businesses.
  • Collaborate with the broader gener8tor team on Main Street-related initiatives across the state.
  • Support and attend relevant events statewide.

Requirements

  • Deep commitment to Indiana’s entrepreneurial and small business ecosystem.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and strong community-building mindset.
  • Ability to travel across Indiana for events and meetings.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves with a “no job is beneath me” mentality.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity across race, place, and gender.
  • Ability to thrive in an independent, fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferences

  • Previous small business or high growth startup experience (starting, working at, or coaching small businesses or startups).
  • Experience in SME and/or Main Street company exits (personal or professional).
  • Familiarity with investment banking and business broker process, ETA, or small business acquisitions.
  • At least five years of program or product management experience.
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Existing network of Indiana-based SME buyers, sellers, and advisors.
  • Ideal for experienced entrepreneurs or executives later in their career, seeking a high-impact, time-bound engagement.
