Contract Support Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented, and organized Human Resource Generalist to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for various aspects of employee management including recruiting, screening candidates, conducting interviews, onboarding new hires, managing employee benefits, handling employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and sometimes administering training program

Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Human Resource Specialist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Recruiting: Find, screen, and interview job applicants, and place new hires. Forecast hiring needs and ensure recruitment process runs smoothly.
• Compensation and benefits: Manage compensation and benefits packages including health and 401K packages.
• Training: Oversee training and development programs
• Employee relations: Maintain positive relationships with employees, including employee recognition and professional development. Plan employee reviews; new hires and annual performance reviews. Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manager.
• Policies: Develop and implement company policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with legal requirements
• Disciplinary Policies – Manage progressive disciplinary process with these steps when necessary: counseling, verbal warning, written warning, final warning, and termination.
• Employee records: Maintain updated employee records, including onboarding plans; inform employees about additional benefits such as vacation days.
• Workplace environment: Ensure a safe and healthy workplace
• Legal compliance: Ensure compliance with Federal and various state labor laws and regulations is up to date.
• Maintain organizational charts: detailed job descriptions along with salary records

Schedule:

• Full-time position with an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday.

Location: North Chesterfield, VA – A remote position will be considered with the understanding that in-office would be required when necessary.

Requirements:

• Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in public or business administration, human resources or a closely related field; and

(B) Minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible human resources experience at a level affording familiarity with personnel classification, compensation, recruitment, promotion, testing, evaluation, labor relations, personnel policy and procedures desired; or

(C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven work experience.

Required Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other relevant computer programs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in data management and compliance.
• Good problem-solving skills to address employee issues and resolve conflicts.
• Team management skills.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Salary: $ 45,000 - $ 60,000
