Accountant Job Description

Responsibilities:

An accountant’s role is to support the organization by ensuring that all financial records and reporting are up to standard, updated, and maintained regularly. In some cases, they are responsible for working with third parties, like banks or auditors, to keep business finances on track.

Duties:

• Implementation and maintaining of IFRS Accounting standards.
• Implementation & submission of Value Added & Corporate tax.
• Receiving and storing invoices.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
• Logging daily entries, preparing and posting journals using digital systems and accounting software used by the company to keep records and create payments in accordance with accounting policy.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Prepares periodic (monthly) and annual balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
• Liaising with auditors & compiling information for internal and external auditors, as required.
• Processing employee expenses & dues.
• Maintain company & project-related records, including contracts, bonding, insurance, and change orders.
• Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Accountant skills, qualifications, and experience.
• Ensures that processes comply with ISO standard & company policies.
• Ensuring accurate bookkeeping with compliance with UAE & accounting standards.
• Filing of all accounts records (soft and hard copies).

Qualifications

To become an accountant, professionals should have a finance subject (accounting, mathematics, etc.) and an accounting qualification or part-qualification in ACA, CIMA, or ACCA.

Skills and experience:

• 3-5 years of accounting experience, ERP knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS Accounting standards
• Excellent MS Excel capabilities
• Contracting experience.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good time management
• Strong commercial acumen
• Good problem-solving skills
• Analytical thinking
• Relationship-building skills
• Valid UAE Driving License

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
