Contracts Clerk

Job Description:

Riverside Metro Auto Group is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Contract Clerk to join our administrative team. This position is responsible for reviewing, processing, and finalizing all vehicle sale and lease contracts across our multiple franchises. The ideal candidate will be organized, accurate, and able to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review all retail and lease deals for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and federal regulations
• Verify all required documentation (sales contract, finance agreements, credit apps, insurance, DMV forms) is present
• Identify and correct any missing items or errors in deals by communicating with finance managers or sales staff
• Post contract data into the dealership’s DMS (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack)
• Handle DMV-related paperwork, titling, and registration for vehicle sales (new and used)
• Maintain organized files of all completed contracts and keep accurate logs for auditing purposes
• Coordinate with the accounting department on deal discrepancies and corrections
• Assist with other administrative and clerical tasks as needed

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience as a contract clerk in a dealership environment
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dealership software (Dealertrack, and Reynolds & Reynolds preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.

Preferred:

• Minimum 2 year of experience as an Automotive Contract Clerk

• Familiarity with California DMV regulations, Title & Registration procedures
• Knowledge of finance products and terms (leases, retail installment contracts, etc.)

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Full-time position; typical hours Monday–Friday
• May require occasional overtime during peak times (end of month, holiday sales events)
• Office setting within a dealership environment
