Job Title: Contracts Engineer

Department: Contracts Department
Reports To: Contracts and cost Control Manager
Location: Sharjah

Job Summary

The Contracts Engineer is responsible for Preparing full tender documents (RFQ) to subcontractors for full scope quotations, quotation analysis, detailed price comparison for manager to make decision and LOA/Subcontract drafting,managing, reviewing, and administering construction contracts to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with contractual, legal, and commercial requirements. The role involves coordinating with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to minimize risk, control costs, and protect the company’s contractual interests.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Administration

  • Review tender documents, contracts, and subcontracts to identify risks and obligations.
  • Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute contracts and variations.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and specifications.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all contractual correspondence.

2. Commercial & Cost Control

· Preparing full tender documents (RFQ) to subcontractors for full scope quotations, quotation analysis, detailed price comparison for manager to make decision and LOA/Subcontract drafting

  • Monitor project costs against budgets and contractual provisions.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor claims and payment applications.
  • Prepare and review progress payment certificates.
  • Assist in pricing variations, claims, and change orders.

3. Claims & Dispute Management (Key and Main work)

  • Identify potential contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare, assess, and negotiate claims related to extensions of time (EOT), variations, delays, and additional costs.
  • Support dispute resolution processes including mediation or arbitration if required.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams.
  • Communicate contractual matters clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide contractual guidance.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor insurance, bonds, warranties, and guarantees.
  • Maintain a contract register and track key contractual milestones.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in QS, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in contract administration within the construction industry in UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, AIA forms).
  • Excellent understanding of construction law and commercial practices.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and contract management software.
  • Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PMP) is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
