Contracts Engineer – High-Rise Building Project (Dubai, UAE)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Contracts Engineer to join our team for a high-rise building project in Dubai. The ideal candidate must have UAE construction experience working with a main contractor and possess strong knowledge in contract administration, subcontract management, variations, claims, and project coordination.

The Contracts Engineer will support the commercial and project teams in managing contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of contracts and subcontracts.
  • Monitor contractual compliance and ensure all parties fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and manage contract correspondence, notices, variations, and claims documentation.
  • Coordinate with project, procurement, planning, and commercial departments regarding contractual matters.
  • Review subcontractor submissions, payment applications, and variation requests.
  • Support in evaluating extension of time (EOT) claims and contractual disputes.
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, amendments, and project documentation.
  • Assist in tendering processes, bid evaluations, and subcontract negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with FIDIC conditions and UAE construction regulations.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers as required.
  • Monitor project progress against contractual timelines and deliverables.
  • Support cost control and commercial reporting activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Must have UAE experience with a main contractor.
  • Strong experience in high-rise building projects in Dubai/UAE.
  • Good knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract administration procedures.
  • Experience in handling variations, claims, subcontract management, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or mixed-use tower projects.
  • Knowledge of procurement and commercial management processes.
  • Professional certification is an advantage.
