Job Summary

The Site Commercial Specialist (SCS) is the primary commercial interface for the site. As the primary commercial partner at the site, the SCS has a deep understanding of the site business processes and extracts value by partnering in key planning and execution processes. The SCS is accountable to review site business plans and identify commercial approaches to deliver incremental value. Ideally the person filling this role has been in a plant environment and advocates for the best commercial outcomes. The SCS acts as a commercial straight edge and pushes the business to challenge long held paradigms.

Partner with the business seeking outcomes that maximize corporate value.
The commercial straight edge for procurement and the business.
Acts as commercial leader, visible in key planning and execution meeting.
Partner with the business and responsible for reviewing and distributing commercial activites within extended team.

Conducts commercial activities including bids, negotiations, settlements, etc.
Lead quarterly updates with site leadership and semi-annual reviews with GCGV board.
Manages relationship with community partners to maintain alignment between site procurement and local businesses.
Additional duties/roles

  • Trains local business partners on key procurement activities
  • Represents procurement at sustainability events
  • Coordinates field walks with suppliers
  • Mentors Strategic Buyers who support the plant remotely.
  • Trouble shoot RtP issues that have direct impact on site reliability. Push all other issues to back office support or helpdesk.
  • Organizes and leads staff meetings for all GCGV Procurement support team members.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiates contract pricing and terms & conditions directly with suppliers while working with internal stakeholders, seeking lowest total system costs and appropriate mitigation of supply and legal risk.
  • Executes PtP (Procure-to-Pay) processes in full compliance with Sourcing & Acquisition Handbook and CIMS (Controls Integrity Management System) catalogs.
  • Fully leverages Procurement processes and tools to ensure most effective procurement method is utilized.
  • Maintains agreement portfolio: scope updates, pricing, Exhibits, amendments.
  • Ensures contract compliance and utilization - monitors supplier performance, troubleshoots issues, etc.
  • Ensures transactional efficiency of agreements by leveraging systems.
  • Identifies business value and other opportunities within the portfolio.
  • Develops and maintains internal and external relationships to meet business line expectations.
  • Provides fit-for-risk process improvements.
  • Influences development and implements Category strategic and commercial guidance; shares portfolio specific market intelligence to Category Networks.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10 Years of experience in a plant or operational setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Engineering Discipline
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of contract development, commercial relationship management, total systems cost, negotiating and influencing.

Annual Outcomes include:

  • Meet annual cost reduction targets as outline between business and procurement.
  • Train site partners on procurement fundamentals (e.g. Procurement 101)
  • Quarterly Stewardship of value delivery for the site
  • Emergency procurement support for the site. After hours, resolution of impacts to reliability. Fully empowered to resolve issues using procurement resources.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, either formal or informal
  • Should be willing to relocate within the US
  • Understanding of the dynamics of functioning in a joint venture setting

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this position is $63.00 per hour, however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.

Please Note:
Must have a valid driver’s license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property.
