In Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS), you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics for both commercial and military platforms – whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management.
BAE Systems is a world leader in flight critical controls and avionics and is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we are seeking a highly experienced Contracts Director who have demonstrated the ability of leading and managing a broad and complex portfolio of programs throughout the project lifecycle.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

BAE Systems is looking for a motivated and experienced Contracts professional to join our Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) Business Area. The successful candidate should have experience with development, production and sustainment defense programs, military and commercial contracts, change proposals and program pursuits, as well as a strong business acumen of strategic planning and financial compliance. This dynamic, growing area includes contracts in all lifecycles from development to sustainment with customers including, but not limited to U.S. Government, primes (Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman) and international defense customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:-
Provide support to the CAS staff including (but not limited to) contract closeouts, contracts training, phase reviews, risk mitigation, proposal strategy/support, change management, on-boarding of new hires/interns, and mentoring of contracting professionals to ensure effective staffing and growth.
- Lead by example by showing compassion and care when mentoring, coaching, training and providing feedback to team.

Provide guidance to Contract Administrators to drive effective contract and performance execution to help organization deliver positive financial performance throughout the all acquisition phases.
- Provide guidance on contractual/business issues, assisting with strategies and recommendations, solving complex contractual and programmatic issues, etc.

Ability to interact with the team to gather, interpret, analyze, develop and recommended strategies and present information.
Maintain and demonstrate a working understanding of the U.S. Government and Commercial acquisition and procurement environments, the BAE Systems Contracts function and relevant Company policies and procedures, Commercial Contracting methods and practices export and FAR/DFARS regulations.

FAR/DFAR knowledge and experience

Strong knowledge and practical experience with intellectual property protection strategies and policies.

Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel and customers at high organizational levels

Experience with a wide range of contractual agreements to support business development and program management teams (ex. NDAs, bailment agreements, teaming agreements, distributor agreements and/or distributor agreements, software licensing etc.).

- Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120000 - $204000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
