POSITION SUMMARY

The Contracts Negotiator adheres to the contract policies and procedures governing the Contracts Management Group to support and achieve established risk mitigation goals. This position contributes to developing the strategic direction of the contract management process to identify the most significant impacts to the business; Analyzes, reviews and negotiates contract provisions to ensure that risk parameters are complied with while accommodating and servicing the end customer; Develops negotiation strategies to combat complex contractual/insurance issues to reinforce corporate risk mitigation initiatives; Builds and maintains relationships and effective channels of communication with internal and external customers to facilitate successful negotiations; Provides guidance and training on contract knowledge to develop and support the Contracts Management Group; Thinks like a business owner with an appreciation of financial/risk implications.

This position requires regular onsite presence in our Daytona Beach office.

Essential Functions

Drive Contract Negotiations to Mitigate Risk

  • Manage negotiations for high volume of customer contracts with a significant focus on insurance related provisions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance trends and construction industry trends and practices in relation to role.
  • Gauge levels of financial risk within the contract negotiation process to mitigate same.
  • Act with a sense of fiduciary responsibility.

Contribute and Partner with High Performance Team

  • Contribute to the development and adhere to corporate policies and procedures in accordance with company goals and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Team Members to continuously improve processes and procedures for increased efficiencies related to the contract process.
  • Order Certificates of Insurance in accordance with contractual requirements and Risk Management Guidelines and resolves customer noncompliance claims.

Collaborate Effectively Across all Organizations

  • Work with managerial staff in the operational, risk, and legal departments to develop procedures and standards that reflect industry best practices.
  • Perform in a cross-functional role maintaining relationships with other business elements, e.g. risk, finance, legal, operations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers that facilitate risk mitigation while maintaining business relationships.
  • Provide complete and timely responses to internal and external requests for information.

Contribute to Best Practices and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps in current processes and procedures and develop and implement solutions.
  • Develop continuous improvement implementation and strategy in key functional areas.

Role Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Professional, Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Course of Study: Juris Doctorate, Legal Studies, Business, Supply Chain or Risk Management.

Preferred Special Certification or Licensing:

  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
  • Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM)
  • Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS)

Legal Age Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age

Experience

  • 2-5 years
  • Industry Specific: Construction
  • Contract Management experience with hands on Contract Negotiation background
  • Solid understanding of Insurance and Risk Management
  • Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Excellent Communication skills

POSITION LOCATION

Onsite in Daytona Beach. This position may offer a hybrid work schedule, but a minimum of 3 days onsite each week will be required.

Amount of Travel Required:

10%

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting boxes or packages under 10 lbs., and sitting for long periods of time.

Work requires regularly inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.

Compensation Range:

$67,300.00 - $101,000.00

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
