Job Title: Contract Specialist
Location: Remote
Purpose: The Government Contract Specialist plays a critical role in managing, negotiating, and administering contracts between government agencies and vendors. This position ensures compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), agency-specific guidelines, and internal policies. The specialist supports the full lifecycle of contracts—from solicitation to closeout—while maintaining transparency, accountability, and fiscal responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate government contracts, modifications, and solicitations.
- Interpret and apply FAR, DFARS, and other relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with program managers, legal counsel, and vendors to ensure contract compliance.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations for Bid (IFBs), and other procurement documents.
- Conduct market research and cost/price analysis to support acquisition strategies.
- Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate contract files and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Assist in resolving disputes, claims, and contract-related issues.
- Support contract closeout procedures and ensure proper finalization.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in government contracting or procurement.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations.
- Experience with contract writing systems (e.g., PRISM, SPS, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Certification such as CPCM, CFCM, or FAC-C is a plus.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Ethical judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
