Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contracts Specialist with strong experience in contracting companies within the UAE construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing all project-related contractual documentation while ensuring compliance with UAE laws, company policies, and international standards such as FIDIC. The role requires strong legal and commercial expertise with the ability to protect the company’s interests throughout all stages of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, agreements, and legal documentation related to construction projects
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and UAE laws and regulations
• Provide contractual and commercial support to project, procurement, and management teams
• Identify contractual risks, claims, disputes, and recommend mitigation strategies
• Maintain organized records of contracts, correspondence, variations, approvals, claims, and amendments
• Coordinate with external legal counsel regarding disputes, arbitration, and claims management matters
• Prepare and review claims, variations, extension of time (EOT), and change order documentation with contractual justification
• Support tendering and bidding activities through contract analysis and commercial risk evaluation
• Advise management on contractual rights, obligations, liabilities, and commercial implications
• Monitor contract milestones, renewals, extensions, warranties, and termination conditions
• Participate in commercial meetings and negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Mandatory: 5–8 years of experience working with a contracting/construction company in the UAE
• Strong knowledge of UAE Civil Code, construction law, and FIDIC contract conditions
• Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, claims management, and risk assessment within construction projects
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management software
• Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an added advantage

Preferred Skills

• Experience handling large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of arbitration procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
