Contracts Specialist & Quantity Surveyor

PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing all contractual, commercial, and quantity surveying aspects of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) works for wastewater treatment plants and drainage/sewage networks. The role ensures compliance with contract conditions, accurate cost control, measurement of works, variation management, and timely preparation of commercial reports in accordance with client requirements and project procedures.

ROLES & RESPOSIBILITIES

• Administer O&M contracts in compliance with client Conditions of Contract, specifications, and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to contractual terms, scope, KPIs, and SLAs.
• Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and claims.
• Control contract variations, change orders, and amendments with proper approvals.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution through effective contract administration.

Experience:

• Minimum7-10 years of experience as Contracts Specialist and Quantity Surveyor in drainage, sewage network, or utility O&M projects.

Competencies:

• Strong understanding of client and FIDIC contract administration.
• Focused on cost control, value management, and financial accuracy.
• Ability to analyze quantities, costs, and contractual risks.
• Effectively supports commercial negotiations and variation settlements.
• Ensures accuracy in measurements, valuations, and documentation.
• Manages deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements efficiently.
• Works closely with project, technical, and finance teams.
• Maintains transparency, compliance, and ethical standards in all commercial dealings.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.

Language: English (written and verbal communication)

Others: Engineers must obtain UPDA certification.
