Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer
Overview
This role supports the design, programming, and implementation of automated control systems within large-scale warehousing and material handling environments. You’ll work hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, and system integrations to bring advanced automation projects to life — from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities

System Design & Development:
Design and develop industrial control systems including PLC programs, HMIs, and integration with sensors, actuators, and other automation components.

PLC Programming:
Write, test, and debug PLC code (Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens TIA Portal) for automation and process control applications.

HMI Development:
Create user-friendly operator interfaces for real-time monitoring and control.

System Integration:
Connect systems using industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, API integrations).

Commissioning & Troubleshooting:
Perform on-site commissioning, testing, and system validation; resolve control and integration issues.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate functional design specs, test procedures, and as-built documentation.

Technical Support:
Provide expertise during installation and ongoing operation.

Collaboration:
Partner with engineering, coordination, project management, and finance teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, and within scope.

Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all workplace and equipment safety standards.
Qualifications

Hands-on experience designing and programming PLC-based control systems.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience (not open to new graduates), ideally seeking candidates with 2-5 years in PLC programming and automation.

Proficiency with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in automation environments.

Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and system layouts.

Strong communication and organizational skills; able to work cross-functionally.

Willingness to travel for project commissioning and on-site support (project-dependent).
