Control Room Operator (CRO) – Demobilization Project (Oman)

Overview

Prismecs is seeking a skilled Control Room Operator (CRO) – Demobilization Project (Oman) to support plant operations and ensure safe coordination of shutdown and demobilization activities.

This role is project-based (estimated 2–4 months) and we are hiring locally within Oman for immediate mobilization .

The CRO will be responsible for monitoring plant systems, supporting safe shutdown operations, coordinating PTW/LOTO processes, and maintaining communication with operations and dispatch teams. This role requires strong experience in power plant operations, SCADA systems, and control room environments.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety, Environment & Compliance (HSE)

• Actively participate in Prismecs HSE programs and comply with all safety regulations
• Act as PTW Competent Person, reviewing and approving PTW and LOTO before work begins
• Coordinate closely with HSE team to ensure compliance with safety directives
• Report all incidents, unsafe conditions, and environmental issues immediately

Control Room Operations & Monitoring

• Operate SCADA, Protection, and Control Systems in accordance with procedures
• Monitor HMI, GTs, and BOP systems, identifying alarms and abnormalities
• Perform hourly readings and system checks across plant equipment
• Report discrepancies, alarms, or equipment issues to Team Leader

Shutdown & Demobilization Support

• Support safe shutdown coordination and plant system monitoring during demobilization
• Ensure systems are safely transitioned and isolated prior to dismantling
• Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, and HSE teams during shutdown execution
• Maintain operational awareness of plant status throughout demobilization

Operations & Reporting

• Execute routine inspections and operational checks
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and operational records
• Support fuel handling operations (fuel offloading procedures)
• Communicate with dispatch and external stakeholders when required

General Duties & Housekeeping

• Maintain CCR (Control Room) cleanliness and readiness for shift handover
• Ensure proper use and care of tools and equipment
• Support shift supervisor instructions and additional operational tasks
• Follow energy conservation and environmental guidelines

Qualifications

Required:

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in power plant operations
• Minimum 3+ years of experience with TM2500+ gas turbines (MANDATORY)
• Strong experience operating SCADA, control, and protection systems
• Experience as PTW Competent Person and familiarity with LOTO procedures
• Experience in plant monitoring, reporting, and shift operations
• English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
• Ability to work rotating shifts

Additional Requirements

• Must be currently based in Oman (local hiring only)
• Available for immediate start
• Available for project duration (2–4 months)

Preferred

• Experience in shutdown or demobilization projects
• Experience in EPC or fast-track plant operations
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18001
• Experience with fuel handling operations and standards
