Controller

True Classic is hiring a Controller to lead our global controllership function across Accounting, Treasury, Compliance, and Financial Operations. In this role you will build and oversee scalable financial infrastructure, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and drive operational excellence across a fast-growing omnichannel business to enable disciplined, transparent, and sustainable global growth.

All of True Classic's roles are global and omni-channel, leading designated areas of accountability across all product categories, countries, and different sales & marketing channels. This means you will have the opportunity to impact our operations worldwide, ensuring a cohesive strategy that aligns with our overall business objectives and drives success across various markets and platforms.

Areas of Accountability

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial statements across all entities and channels
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with rigor and efficiency
  • Maintain full compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, reconciliations, and audit-ready documentation

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Partner with the VP of Finance to manage global cash flow, liquidity, and inter-company funding
  • Oversee banking relationships, merchant accounts, and international cash operations
  • Drive capital efficiency and working capital optimization strategies
  • Lead treasury automation and payment platform optimization initiatives

Operational Accounting (AP, AR, Payroll & GL)

  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Procurement controls, and vendor payment processes
  • Lead global receivables management across DTC, wholesale, and retail channels
  • Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in partnership with Sales and Retail
  • Manage payroll accounting, equity accounting, expense reimbursement, and general ledger operations
  • Ensure system alignment between HRIS, ERP, POS, and e-commerce platforms

Systems, Compliance & Team Leadership

  • Serve as systems architect for accounting infrastructure, ensuring integration and scalability
  • Drive ERP and financial system optimization (e.g., NetSuite, Looker, Tropic, DrivePoint)
  • Coordinate audits, statutory filings, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing hybrid accounting team (onshore and offshore)
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • FP&A: Align financial reporting with forecasts, business insights, and strategic planning to create a single source of financial truth
  • Sales Operations & Retail: Ensure accurate revenue recognition, credit controls, and channel reconciliation
  • Procurement & Operations: Optimize vendor relationships, payment terms, and working capital management
  • HR & People Team: Ensure payroll accuracy, equity accounting alignment, and systems integrity across HRIS and ERP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA required; MBA or CMA a plus)
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, preferably in omnichannel retail, consumer goods, or eCommerce
  • Deep technical expertise in US GAAP, consolidations, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity environments
  • Proven experience leading Treasury, AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger functions at scale
  • Strong systems orientation with hands-on experience in NetSuite, Looker, DrivePoint, or similar financial systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Systems thinker with a bias toward automation and scalable infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel business models (eCommerce, retail, wholesale)
  • Experience managing onshore and offshore accounting teams
  • Strong cross-functional communicator with high attention to detail
  • Ability to operate strategically while maintaining a hands-on leadership approach in a high-growth environment
