Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller-Level Accountant to join our dynamic team at our CPA firm. As a key member of our client accounting services department, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining financial records for multiple clients across various industries.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Manage or perform accounting functions for multiple client accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Record and reconcile financial transactions, including bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Perform month-end and or year-end closing procedures, producing accurate financial statements and report.
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide expert guidance on accounting practices and financial best practices.
Oversee payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance to ensure timely and accurate execution.
Analyze financial data, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, and present findings to management and clients.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support clients' strategic decision-making.
Stay up-to-date with accounting and accounting principles, industry regulations, and software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support to foster professional growth.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience (7+ years) in a similar role within a CPA firm or related financial services environment.
In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with clients and internal teams professionally.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple client accounts, and meet tight deadlines.
Ethical and trustworthy, maintaining client confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information responsibly.
