Edge Auto Rental is a fast-growing, employee-owned company. As an ESOP organization, we foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and long-term value creation. We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead and scale our accounting and financial operations.

Position Overview

The Controller will serve as a key financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day execution. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and direct NetSuite experience to manage and optimize our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization policies, asset tracking, and accurate depreciation (book and tax) schedules
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews
• Own and optimize NetSuite system functionality, reporting, and workflows
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making
• Supervise and develop accounting staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
• Direct, hands-on NetSuite experience (required - candidates without this will not be considered)
• Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Strong experience managing fixed assets, including depreciation methods, capitalization policies, and audit-ready asset schedules
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in multi-state or multi-entity environments is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
