Responsibilities:

Managing a staff of at least three; handling all firm accounting, including general ledger maintenance; accounts receivable; accounts payable; preparing payroll; taxes and tax filings; financial reporting; financial performance analysis; month-end and year-end closing; banking relationships; cash flow management; bank account and credit card reconciliations; regular improvement of the accounting functions; enforcing financial procedures; budgeting; payroll; recommending initiatives to improve expense management.

The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Qualifications:

BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
Minimum of 5 years of similar accounting experience. Experience in a law firm or similar setting is preferred but not required.
Strength in debits & credits and familiarity with accounting standards, theories, methods, processes
Managerial or supervisory experience
Demonstrated computer skills, especially with computerized accounting systems, Excel, and web-based financial services.
Demonstrated financial report design experience
Experience with payroll programs. Experience with ADP is a plus.
