Royal Industries - Aerospace & Defense Precision Machining
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Employment Type: Full-time In Person

About Royal Industries

Royal Industries is an aerospace and defense manufacturing and contracting company. We machine complex, mission-critical components with a zero-defect mindset, disciplined execution, and a high-accountability operating model.

We are not a commodity job shop. We are building an elite, documented, scalable manufacturing unit where people own outcomes, playbooks protect excellence, and measurement closes the loop.

The Mission

Royal Industries is rebuilding its financial operating model.

This is not a basic bookkeeping cleanup. We need a finance leader who can restore visibility into contract-level billings, receivables, collections, cash flow, and profitability. The right person will help create a clear contract-to-cash system, tighten monthly close discipline, improve financial reporting, and give leadership confidence in how money is moving through the business.

You will work directly with leadership to stabilize the numbers, identify billing and collection gaps, and install durable controls for a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing operation.

What You Will Own

· Build and maintain contract-level financial visibility across active customer work.

· Track payment terms, milestones, deposits, retainage, staged billings, and collections.

· Reconcile AR, cash receipts, customer advances, deferred balances, and unbilled items.

· Create a reliable cash forecasts by customer and contract.

· Improve month-end close checklists, reconciliations, and reporting cadence.

· Support job-cost and program-level profitability reporting.

· Identify missed billings, blocked collections, and financial control gaps.

· Help define accounting SOPs, reporting dashboards, and ownership routines.

· Coordinate with leadership, operations, billing, and external accounting support.

What Good Looks Like

· Every active contract has clear payment terms and billing triggers.

· Open receivables are tied to specific contract events or known exceptions.

· Leadership has weekly visibility into cash, collections, and billing exposure.

· Month-end close becomes disciplined, timely, and explainable.

· Contract-level reporting shows billings, collections, margin, and cash exposure.

· Financial surprises decrease because the operating system is stronger.

Required Experience

· Controller, accounting manager, senior accountant, or finance operations experience.

· Manufacturing, job-cost, project accounting, or contract accounting background.

· Strong AR, billing, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.

· Ability to work through messy financial data and create order.

· Comfort with milestone billing, deposits, retainage, staged collections, or complex customer payment terms.

· Strong Excel / spreadsheet modeling skills.

· Experience creating processes, checklists, trackers, and management reporting.

Preferred Experience

· Aerospace, defense, precision machining, industrial manufacturing, or government-contracting exposure.

· ERP cleanup, reporting-dimension design, or dashboard implementation experience.

· Experience supporting contract-to-cash, order-to-cash, or quote-to-cash workflows.

· Familiarity with inventory, WIP, job costing, and gross margin reporting.

· CPA, CMA, or equivalent practical experience.

Who Thrives Here

You will do well at Royal Industries if you are serious, precise, direct, and accountable. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, documents what matters, finds root causes, and builds systems that make the business stronger.

This role is for someone who wants to help build the financial command center of a high-standard manufacturing company.

Who This Is Not For

This is not the right seat if you only want routine bookkeeping, low-pressure data entry, or a narrow accounting lane. Royal Industries needs someone who can think, investigate, organize, challenge assumptions, and help leadership make better decisions.

Why Join Royal Industries

· Mission-critical aerospace and defense manufacturing environment

· Direct access to leadership

· High-impact role with visible results

· Opportunity to build the financial operating model, not just maintain it

· Serious culture built around ownership, documentation, performance, and mission excellence

Send your resume and a short note explaining your experience with manufacturing accounting, contract billing, AR cleanup, cash forecasting, or financial control rebuilds.
