This is not a remote position; this is a full time in-office position.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Interpret design requirements and schematics to convert them into drawings and technical documentation in order to deploy embedded control systems onto Altec products.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• With some guidance from manager and engineers perform Controls work such as drawings, schematics, wire harness design, control panel layout, BOM’s, parts pages and other technical documents; identify when Engineering support is necessary and obtain that support to ensure a quality product
• Analyze technical requirements and coordinate across Altec departments and products to determine the most appropriate solution
• With some guidance from manager or engineers ensure electrical system designs comply with relevant internal and external standards.
• Present design solutions to project teams and Customers.
• With minimum guidance from engineers assist with or lead prototype system installation and test stand development.
• Provide product support, utilizing other technical personnel as needed
• May lead Continuous Improvement initiatives
• May assist in training staff
• All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Two-year applicable degree and four years of industry specific experience, or
• Four-year applicable degree (preferred) and two years of industry specific experience
• Ability to determine work and decisions that require formal engineering approval
