Entry level, full time, hourly position involving install of components for building automation systems. Seeking a diligent and self-driven worker, with attention to detail. Needs to be teachable with a propensity to learn and open to constructive criticism.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Install HVAC and building automation controls on new construction, remodeled, and service locations
- Install communication and control wire possibly in obscure locations which may include above ceiling grid, through interior and exterior walls, in tight crawl spaces, or in high places
- Install control devices in sometimes hard to reach locations
- Install controllers and terminate wires for sensors and actuators using a wiring diagram
- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings and wiring diagrams
Skills and Job Requirements:
- Possess an aptitude for electrical wiring and reading and interpreting wiring diagrams
- Possess aptitude to read and interpret plans and specifications for a project
- Able to bend conduit to fit an application
- Able to climb ladders and work at moderate heights (mostly between 20 and 30 feet)
- Must be capable of lifting equipment up to 75 lbs. for a distance
- Willing to work after hours and weekends when necessary
- Ability to use a multimeter
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year technical certificate in HVAC or equivalent from an accredited institution or 2 years of experience in an HVAC related field
- Possess desire and aptitude to eventually lead a crew
- Possess basic set of tools (screw drivers, drill, etc.)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and able to drive a company vehicle when necessary (must be 21 years of age)
