As bp transitions to an integrated energy company, we must adapt to a changing world and maintain competitive performance. bp’s customers & products (C&P) business area is setting up a business and technology centre (BTC) in Pune, India. This will support the delivery of an enhanced customer experience and drive innovation by building global capabilities, scale, leveraging technology, and developing deep expertise. The BTC will be a core and connected part of our business, bringing together colleagues who report into their respective part of C&P, working together with other functions across bp. Let me tell you about the role

The convenience analyst and insights manager is responsible for analysing internal and external data, insights and market-trends to support and challenge the UK trading team in delivering the strategy and maximising financial and customer performance / satisfaction. This role will lead and work in partnership with key internal and external customers

What you will deliver

    Ensure all plans and decisions are truly customer-led - Support the trade planning team by providing data and insight that can be used to make customer-led and date-led decisions for the UK trading team.

    Challenge and support the team – including the regular sharing of insights and opportunities that the data shows.

    Fully utilise data, insight and market-trend platforms / information (i.e. internal reporting, external suppliers and partners, SAP, ACI, IGD, Nielson, CTP, trade press) to ensure performance opportunities are fully analysed, explored, and changes / interventions proposed as required..

    Work closely with buyers and colleagues (across branded, WBC and M&S teams) to ensure performance is truly optimised (sales, margin, central income, RCOP and customer satisfaction), and that categories and brands work together as one combined offer.

    Work together with wider business colleagues to ensure all data and insight is considered and understood (i.e. marketing, strategy, PPM, global insights, CoE, operations).

    Build, manage and maintain insight-led external relationships (including, but not exclusive to, IGD, Nielson, CTP) to ensure good communication with these external partners.

    Develop and own efficient and automated tools to drive profitability and customer satisfaction (i.e. price and promotion)

What you will need to be successful

Knowledge & Experience:

    3-5 years of experience and proven ability in analysing data and insight to drive positive change and enhanced performance outputs.
    Keen and proven bias towards the customer – ideally with experience in understanding and applying market-trend information.
    Experience in managing, or working alongside, third party partners / suppliers.
    Experience working within a fast-paced retail business.
    Ability to remain highly motivated whilst managing pressures associated with high intensity / profile role.
    Strong team-working, coaching, communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with others across the wider business.
    Highly organised with a strong bias towards effective planning and prioritising • Accomplished attention to detail, and comfortable in handling large amounts of data.
    Highly numerate with relevant technical experience (i.e. SAP, MS Office) and the ability to embrace new technology / ways of working.

Education:

Graduate or equivalent experience in science or engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
