In this role, you will prepare and serve delicious food to help our patients recover and thrive.

How you'll contribute

The cook prepares, seasons and cooks food for hospital patients, staff and visitors. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen and adhering to food safety requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and tests foods being cooked to ensure proper seasoning etc.
• Consult with the Registered Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.
• Supervise Nutritional Services workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or customer service experience with cooking experience preferred.
• Prior restaurant or institutional cooking experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
