Position Description:
Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a timely, efficient, and consistent manner while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction. This role supports all kitchen operations within the full-service hotel, including restaurant service, banquets, and special events.
Essential Functions
• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
• Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and portion control • Assist with food prep including chopping, portioning, marinating, and stocking stations
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Properly store food items to prevent spoilage and waste
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
- Support banquet and catering functions as needed
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house team members
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and brand standards
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of cooking methods and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- ServSafe Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to work in hot and cold environments
