Summary

Responsible for the preparation and execution of authentic African dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to all health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of authentic dishes from diverse African regions (e.g., West, East, South Africa).
  • Follow established recipes and menu specifications precisely to ensure consistent taste and presentation.
  • Source, inspect, and properly handle African-specific ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workstation.
  • Monitor stock, minimize waste, and assist with inventory management.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of traditional African cooking techniques and flavor profiles is mandatory.
  • [2+] years of experience as a Cook, ideally in African cuisine.
  • Valid Food Handler's certification.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team environment.
