Job Summary

Shearwater Residence, a 16 bed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly in Orangevale, CA is looking for an experienced cook & kitchen manager. If you enjoy spending time with seniors, creating healthy menus and cooking nutritious meals - come join our team!

Responsibilities and Duties

• Create weekly menu and place weekly grocery orders
• Prepare food daily as outlined on the weekly menu
• Serve and Kitchen Clean-up
• Maintain pantry and appropriate supply of food
• Maintain quality of food products by keeping refrigerators and storage areas neat and clean
• Ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients
• Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment following all state regulations
• Promote proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control
• Coordinate and participate in serving food

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience cooking for seniors – 1 year or more
• Knowledge of OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures
• Knowledge of State food-handling and kitchen regulations
• Knowledge of fire and safety procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
