RESPONSIBILITIES
Including, but not limited to:
Work with the facilities dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Services, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
Review menus prior to preparation of food.
Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary.
Work with the facility dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
Assist in establishing food service production lines, etc. to assure that meals are prepared on time.
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Ability to follow certain food requirements that are flexible to resident's diets
One year of dietary experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility or other related medical facility preferred, but not necessary.
ServSafe Certification Required
Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced healthcare environment is required.
The ideal candidate will also have previous organizational experience.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in long-term care or other healthcare settings is a plus.
Detailed oriented with excellent follow up skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
Good verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding employee, resident and company
proprietary information
Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with patients, families, and other employees at all levels
