The Coordinator will design, cultivate, and implement initiatives that promote holistic student development with a view towards retention, graduation, and post-graduate success. The Coordinator will promote a better sense of belonging for all students by creating educational content, hosting events that promote student welfare and a sense of belonging, facilitate developmental opportunities, and engagement initiatives for at-risk and underrepresented students, manage and teach the College’s Living Learning Community, oversee student clubs and organizations, and provide guidance for recruiting a diverse student body. The Coordinator will collaborate with personnel throughout the Deans’ office, the Herbert College of Agriculture, the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA), and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to help establish a campus culture that continuously promotes awareness, respect, and inclusion.
Management of the College’s Living Learning Community (LLC)
Develop and provide student development activities, events, and programs to help student retention and success

Provide service to the College, University and Profession of Student Life

About The College/Department/Division:
The Coordinator for Student Life is a valued member of the Dean’s office in the Herbert College of Agriculture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. We offer an inclusive and supportive environment where students and families come first. The College, consisting of nearly 1,800 undergraduate and 300 graduate students, is in growth mode. Multiple majors are offered in every one of the eight departments: Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication; Agricultural Resource Economics; Animal Sciences; Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science; Entomology and Plant Pathology; Food Science; Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries; and Plant Sciences. The College is known for its family atmosphere where faculty know their students and where Experiential Learning has long been the foundation of a student’s educational program.
