GENERAL SUMMARY:
Oversees the daily functioning of an outpatient clinic to ensure efficient operation. Provides for effective scheduling of patient appointments; controls medical and office supplies and ensures continuity of care and methods through the scheduling of responsible personnel.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Schedules staff and daily work assignments.
2. Plans work and vacation schedules; implements improvements to existing system.
3. Conducts daily huddles to facilitate smooth clinical operations with physicians and MA team to include acute patient appointments.
4. Controls medical and office supplies by ordering, receiving and proper storing.
5. Insures smooth communication between medical staff and responsible personnel.
6. Communicate to patients or parents the physician’s medical instructions.
7. Acts as a coordinator between physicians and other departments to ensure all test results are available upon patient's arrival.
8. Addresses patient complaints regarding time delays, appointment scheduling, and lack of professional care; works closely leadership regarding threatened litigation.
9. Performs patient care functions such as vision and hearing screening, administering immunizations, recording vital signs, taking height and weight, and charting of other functions related to clinic specialty.
10.Maintains regulatory standards (i.e. Joint Commission, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Environment of Care, Regulatory Readiness, Medication Review, Hand Hygiene and other system compliance efforts).
11.Assists in the selection, orientation, and training of new staff; and may provide input into performance appraisals.
12.Conducts regular staff meetings, to include the review of Press Ganey scores and other quality scores. 13.Performs other job duties as required.
