Coordinator, Research Data - Radiation Oncology Clinical Research Department

The Coordinator of Research Data supports the essential research functions within Radiation Oncology Clinical Research Department, ensuring accurate data collection, documentation, and study coordination. This role manages protocols, patient-related research data, and communication across clinical and research teams. As a Coordinator of Research Data, the position helps maintain consistency, compliance, and timely reporting throughout all study phases. MD Anderson Cancer Center is a leading institution focused on cancer care, research, education, and prevention. The Coordinator of Research Data contributes directly to this mission by supporting critical data systems, patient workflows, and research operations that advance scientific discovery.

The Coordinator of Research Data also collaborates with investigators, clinicians, external partners, and patients to ensure that study data and research activities are accurately documented and aligned with institutional requirements. With growing needs in research protocol management and data accuracy, the Coordinator of Research Data strengthens the foundation for high-quality research at MD Anderson.

Responsibilities

Research Data Management
  • Develop systems for controlling paper flow for protocols and hospital policies
  • Maintain records of surgery and pathology information
  • Develop and maintain databases for research data collection
  • Complete data forms related to dosimetry, films, treatment records, surgery, and pathology
  • Maintain schedules for timely submission of all grant data

Grant & Reporting Support
  • Assist in preparing reports and information required for grant submissions
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supporting documentation

Patient & Study Coordination
  • Control patient randomization for studies
  • Ensure appropriate follow-up appointments
  • Serve as liaison with patients, families, physicians, and other personnel

Study Site & Institutional Coordination
  • Maintain communication with external institutions participating in studies
  • Coordinate data and information across all study sites

Training & Orientation
  • Orient facility personnel involved in study processes and requirements

EDUCATION
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 2 years Related experience. or
  • Required: No experience required with preferred degree.
  • Preferred: Previous research study experience strongly preferred
