Coordinator, Research Data - Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology

The Research Data Coordinator supports clinical research activities within Thoracic Head and Neck by ensuring accurate, complete, and compliant data collection and management for investigator-initiated and investigational new drug studies. The Research Data Coordinator works closely with research nurses, clinical study coordinators, principal investigators, and data compliance leadership to support high-quality research operations and patient safety.

The Clinical Research Data Coordinator contributes directly to institutional, sponsor, and regulatory compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate for the Research Data Coordinator will have experience in clinical research data management, including abstracting patient data from electronic health records, working with research databases, managing queries, and supporting investigator-initiated or IND studies; a background in clinical research, health information, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum $21.15 - Midpoint $26.44 - Maximum $31.73 per hour

Responsibilities
Data Collection & Abstraction
  • Abstract and collect patient data from the electronic health record and other relevant source documents.
  • Utilize institutional systems including PDMS, Core, PDOL, and OneConnect (Epic) to obtain and verify patient and protocol data.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of systems controlling paper flow for protocols and data dissemination.

Data Management & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure high-quality data management through tracking receipt, quality assurance review, and entry of patient data.
  • Enter protocol data into appropriate databases and generate queries for missing or incorrect data.
  • Perform ongoing and concurrent review of data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Address data entry omissions or inconsistencies and amend errors in a timely manner.
  • Record protocol deviations in deviation logs as required by sponsors and governing entities.

Query Management
  • Issue nursing, clinical study coordinator, and principal investigator queries.
  • Track query responses and follow up on all delinquent requests.
  • Maintain documentation of query resolution and data corrections.

Database Coordination & Reporting
  • Assist in database coordination, build, and maintenance for all IIT and IND studies utilizing institutional databases.
  • Develop spreadsheets or tracking tools for data not entered into a database.
  • Provide data for study progress and patient safety reports, including IRB continuing reviews and IND reports.
  • Create accrual and toxicity reports as needed.
  • Compile protocol data for statistical review and manuscript submission.

Support & Special Projects
  • Assist research staff with new user account creation and database support on assigned studies.
  • Support special projects as assigned by the Research Nurse Manager of Data Compliance & Quality Assurance.

EDUCATION
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Required: 2 years Related experience or

    No experience required with preferred degree.
