Job Description
Your Impact as Microbiology Operations Supervisor
This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in fast-paced technical environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality results for internal and external clients. You’ll be at the heart of lab operations—driving performance, ensuring compliance, and empowering your team to exceed expectations.
Lab Operations – Own the Process, Elevate the Standards

Champion a robust training program to ensure staff are confident, competent, and client-ready.

Lead investigations with precision and transparency, delivering clear, actionable reports.

Perform critical environmental monitoring and sampling to support operational integrity.

Keep lab equipment running smoothly through proactive maintenance and calibration oversight.

Ensure data accuracy and reliability through rigorous peer review and documentation.

Leverage LIMS to track samples, monitor turnaround times, and report key metrics.

Maintain and analyze productivity data to identify trends and drive improvements.

Validate microbiological media and perform microbial ID procedures when needed.

Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts and group leaders in a technical setting.

Qualifications-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific field.

Leadership Experience: 3+ years of leading high-performing teams in technical or laboratory environments, with a strong focus on coaching, mentoring, and team development.

Lab Expertise: At least 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience—GMP-regulated environment experience is a big plus.

Operational Know-How: Proven track record in managing lab operations, optimizing workflows, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively collaborate across internal teams and with external clients to ensure smooth project execution and high satisfaction.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Position Details

Schedule: Full-time, onsite, second shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM)

Location: Rensselaer, NY — candidates within commuting distance are strongly encouraged to apply

Compensation: $33–$38/hour, based on education and relevant experience

Occasional: Weekend and overtime work may be required
