Position Overview:
Hickory Farms’ Brand team functions as an in-house creative agency with a focus on outstanding storytelling, innovative packaging design, and multi-channel creative marketing solutions. The copywriter position supports both digital and print with the opportunity to develop omni-channel content. This is a junior-level role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - include but are not limited to the following:

Demonstrate a command of the written word with clear and compelling messaging for multi-channel content, including:

Digital – web, social media, email, paid media, long-form web (blogs, gift guides, etc.)Traditional – catalog, packaging, retail signage

Be an ardent brand advocate, ensuring brand voice is represented consistently and appropriately across all channels

Responsible for the accuracy of content, including proofreading, use of appropriate grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions with internal stakeholders to develop goal-focused creative solutions

Understand the brand’s different demographic segments and craft unique messaging for each audience that aligns with the overall brand identity

Partner with Designers on creative development, ensuring cohesive messaging and design

Assist Digital Asset Manager with keeping metadata for image assets up-to-date and reflective of Hickory Farms’ SEO best practices

Collaborate with the Marketing Team on keyword research and SEO/SEM content

Collaborate with the Product Development team to develop product fanciful names and descriptions that drive consumer desire and integrate key SEO terms

Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Development, and Product Management to deliver on-time and on-target creative

Knowledge of best practices for digital marketing copy, including: email, SEO/SEM (paid search, paid social, programmatic affiliate), social media, web

Strong understanding of SEO/SEM and keyword usage

Outstanding editorial ability with a full understanding of AP Style

Constantly evolving knowledge of contemporary writing and marketing trends

Ability to prioritize workload and deliver projects on-time with strong project management, organization, and time management skills

Educational and/or Work Experience Qualifications:
-
2+ years in an agency, or as part of an in-house creative team

Previous work on Food & Beverage, eCommerce, and/or Gifting preferred

BFA in Creative Writing, Journalism, Advertising/Communications, English, or a similar field

Functional ability in Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge, etc.

Expert level in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Display a range of writing excellence in various formats, including: advertising, editorial, social, digital, and catalog
Physical Requirements:
