TITLE : Core/Pack BMS Calibration Team Lead
DUTIES : Lead a team focused on State-of-Charge (SOx) calibration and pack-level balancing validation for high-voltage battery systems to ensure optimal battery performance, safety, and longevity across the company’s electrified vehicle platforms. Lead and mentor a team of calibration engineers focused on State-of-Charge (SOx) algorithms and pack-level balancing strategies. Manage key deliverables and establish methodologies for the core BMS calibration team. Oversee development, validation, and release of SOx calibration across multiple vehicle platforms. Direct pack-level cell balancing validation to ensure compliance with performance, durability, and safety requirements. Supervise Beginning-of-Life, Middle-of-Life, and End-of- Life battery pack testing and validation. Allocate team resources daily and weekly to meet program milestones on schedule. Serve as primary point of escalation for delays in program timing or pack-level testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including BMS software, diagnostics, thermal systems, and vehicle integration. Drive data-driven decision-making using vehicle, dyno, and simulation data to optimize calibration strategies. Ensure alignment with regulatory standards, internal quality metrics, and program timelines. Support issue resolution through root cause analysis, calibration updates, and validation testing. Represent the team in technical reviews, program meetings, and supplier engagements. **Up to 20% Domestic and International travel is required. ** .
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Automotive Engineering or Electrical Engineering and 5 years of experience in same or similar position in automotive battery calibration, BMS development, or electrified powertrain systems . Experience must include: Experience must include: performing Sox estimation algorithms, cell balancing strategies, and pack-level validation; using Core Methodology; utilize Knowledge of battery chemistry, cell performance, thermal behavior, and degradation mechanisms; using ETAS INCA, Vector CANape, MATLAB/Simulink, and dSPACE; conducting data analysis, test planning, and vehicle level integration; and collaborating with suppliers on global vehicle programs.
