Alterra Management Limited is an Asset Manager incorporated in the ADGM, regulated by the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority that manages the Alterra Climate Vehicles.


Role Overview


The Corporate Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing ALTÉRRA’s communications strategy, branding, and global narrative. This leadership position requires a visionary communicator with a deep understanding of the climate investment landscape, exceptional storytelling skills, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and enhancing ALTÉRRA’s brand, driving awareness of our mission, and positioning the organization as a leader in the climate investment space.


Your work will involve developing and executing communications campaigns, as well as defining the future strategy as relates how the fund will position itself on the global stage. Among other things, the individual will focus on:


  • Building awareness of Alterra and establish it as global thought leader in the climate, finance and investment communities across both established and emerging markets.
  • Amplify the climate transition message of Alterra
  • Motivate new investors and partners to choose Alterra


The campaign will reach key audiences and identify how to use key moments and levers to advance our climate and investment objectives.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


Responsibilities include identifying opportunities and anticipating communications needs, devising and overseeing messaging, narrative development, speech writing, event planning, developing social media content and strategies, leading on media relations and other outreach activities, preparing Alterra spokespeople for media engagements.


You will coordinate and lead on communications aspects of high-level events with global leaders, and collaborate with colleagues at leading climate organizations, and investment and government partners.


Qualifications and Experience


  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, environmental studies, or related field
  • Relevant full-time work experience in communications, public relations, or related roles, with a focus on climate, sustainability – experience in climate finance or ESG would be an advantage.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with an experience of producing persuasive and impactful content
  • Experience developing and implementing successful communication strategies and/or advocacy campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of international climate policy, climate finance and clean energy
  • Strong media relations skills and experience working with top-tier media outlets.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful communications strategies.
  • Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for climate action and sustainable development.
