Corporate Controller

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Corporate Controller to lead and oversee all financial operations within our organization. The Corporate Controller is a senior financial leadership role responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting integrity, and internal control environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller leads the day‐to‐day management of the accounting function while also supporting financial planning and analysis activities that drive operational decision‐making. The Controller partners closely with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Human Resources to ensure accurate financial reporting, disciplined financial processes, and strong cross‐functional collaboration. This role requires a hands‐on accounting leader with strong technical accounting expertise, manufacturing cost experience, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights that support executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure the general ledger remains accurate, balanced, and fully reconciled with strong documentation and audit‐ready schedules.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules while maintaining the integrity of the chart of accounts.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure timely vendor payments, accurate invoicing, and effective collections management.
  • Monitor working capital performance including receivables, payables, and inventory balances.
  • Own and oversee payroll processing while working closely with Human Resources to ensure accurate payroll, employee changes, benefits deductions, and compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Prepare and file Sales and Use Tax returns and maintain proper documentation for compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Partner with the Senior Accountant to oversee treasury functions including bank activity monitoring, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer with cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and treasury planning.
  • Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Purchasing teams to ensure accurate inventory accounting and operational alignment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory valuation including monitoring inventory adjustments, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
  • Support and monitor standard costing structures including material costs, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
  • Analyze production variances including material usage, labor efficiency, and manufacturing overhead variances and collaborate with operational leadership to improve cost performance.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to monitor product margins, pricing performance, and customer profitability.
  • Prepare monthly budget‐to‐actual variance analysis and provide insights to leadership on financial performance.
  • Develop financial models and analytical reports to support operational planning, pricing decisions, and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain management dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into financial and operational performance.
  • Identify financial trends and key business drivers and communicate insights to the CFO and executive leadership team.
  • Lead preparation and coordination of the annual financial audit including preparation of schedules and documentation for external auditors.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies while strengthening internal controls.
  • Improve financial processes, reporting structures, and accounting workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure financial data integrity within the company’s ERP system and support development of improved reporting capabilities.
  • Support executive leadership with financial analysis and participate in strategic initiatives and special projects.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA strongly preferred.
  • 8–12 years of progressive accounting or finance experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or inventory‐driven environment strongly preferred, including exposure to standard costing, inventory valuation, and operational financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning and analysis functions is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost structures
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret operational and financial data
  • Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non‐finance leaders

Physical Conditions:

This position is exposed to general office conditions. Walking and standing may be experienced when communicating with other departments.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
