Aunt Millie's is seeking an experienced and strategic Corporate Controller to lead our Accounting Department and drive financial excellence across the organization. In this pivotal leadership role, you'll oversee all accounting operations, manage a talented team, and provide critical financial guidance to executive leadership. Primary Responsibility

The Corporate Controller will oversee the complete operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and payroll. You'll lead the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, supervise and mentor accounting staff, and identify training needs to build a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
  • Lead the review of monthly earnings and supervise the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries
  • Ensure detailed review, analysis, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Serve as a key team player in the development, review, implementation, and documentation of all financial procedures and controls
  • Ensure compliance of audit documentation relating to financial processes
  • Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Work collaboratively with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit
  • Serve as key support to the CFO and other corporate leaders, resolving accounting issues and implementing new accounting pronouncements and policies
  • Support the development of standard costs by providing timely and accurate data
  • Provide daily hands-on management and leadership for the entire accounting team
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop accounting staff members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 6+ years of experience in accounting and finance with knowledge of both manufacturing and retail business environments
  • 2+ years of directing, managing, or supervising experience
  • Experience with development of processes and controls
  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop others
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation
  • SAP experience
