Corporate Counsel, Global Logistics

DESCRIPTION

Amazon's legal department is looking for a sharp, intellectually curious attorney to serve as a strategic legal partner to the dynamic and fast-moving Global Logistics organization. In this role, you'll be the go-to legal advisor on customs compliance and regulatory matters, working at the intersection of international trade law, technology, and global commerce. While this role will primarily be focused on customs issues, it will also involve general commercial and business support.

Key job responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day and strategic advice regarding complex customs compliance and regulatory issues
  • Advising on complex regulatory questions with real operational impact across international jurisdictions
  • Supporting a wide range of commercial and business matters as a trusted partner to cross-functional teams
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate legal exposure
  • Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways
  • Building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly
  • Some travel, domestic and international, may be required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Experience with in-house work at a technology or internet company
  • Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
  • Experience advising stakeholders on complex customs compliance and regulatory issues

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
