Overall Responsibility:

The Corporate Materials Planning and Logistics Manager is responsible for developing and leading the corporate materials planning and logistics strategy that deliver cost savings, innovation, quality, and supply assurance across all business units. This role will work closely with suppliers, external and internal customers to ensure 100% accurate on time delivery of all materials. This key role supports the plant goals of operational excellence and profitability.

ACCOUNTABILITES:

STRATEGIC COMMODITY MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure adequate materials, efficient material flow and the timely shipment of materials to meet the daily production requirements at all locations
  • Contribute to long term planning by assisting and proactive planning of production processes
  • Ensure that targets and KPI’s of all production processes are met and maintained through efficient materials management
  • In conjunction with the Operations Manager, plan and process material flow for all business units including the maintenance of the JDE system and interface with customer/supplier MRP systems
  • Understand market trends to identify risks, opportunities, emerging shifts and new suppliers/customers to ensure supply continuity and competitiveness
  • Execute/oversee inventory planning activities for critical commodities including RFQ’s, PO issuance and supplier/customer negotiations
  • Determines/supports production scheduling based on customer requirements

SUPPLIER/CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT

  • Support customer/ supplier selection, negotiations and contract management.
  • Drive performance improvements in cost, delivery, quality, sustainability and risk mitigation.
  • Risk mitigation plans should include plans for supply continuity, tariffs, logistics challenges and geopolitical impacts.
  • Support supplier/customer development activities to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements.

CROSS FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

  • Partner with engineering/operations teams to support new customer launches
  • Partner with operations and quality teams to identify/address supplier/customer performance issues
  • Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives/projects in conjunction with the operations and engineering teams/managers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years’ experience in plant operations with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record in materials planning/management; strong customer/supplier negotiation; materials commodity strategy development, excellent analytical and leadership skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent client service skills and orientation.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management, process flow charts, statistical process controls within a PC environment as well as customer EDI communication.
  • Willing to travel

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree required: supply chain management experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in managing large warehouse distribution facilities and several hundred employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
