Job Purpose, Duties & Responsibilities:
Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, and submission of corporate tax, income tax, Zakat, and withholding tax filings across all company operations.
Job Description:
Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, develop, and provide training to the tax team members.

Provide continuous training and guidance to team members, fostering a high-performance environment.

Manage team members, including task assignment, performance monitoring, and development.
Taxation and Compliance Management:

Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of all corporate tax, income tax, Zakat, and withholding tax across the organization.

Ensure comprehensive compliance with all applicable tax regulations and changes.

Develop and implement tax plans, including annual tax calculation and submission processes.

Stay updated on all new tax laws and regulations, both local (Bahrain) and international (KSA, UK, India), and advises the management and relevant internal departments on changes and their impact on compliance.
Government and Regulatory Liaison and Filings:

Represent the organization in government and regulatory bodies concerning tax matters.

Manage and update government tax registration records and related documentation.

Update the organization on changes in government tax policies and regulations.

Act as the primary point of contact for tax audits and other government inquiries.

Oversee tax audit preparations, coordinating document retrieval and response.
Financial Reporting and Controls:

Prepare International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) schedules such as Deferred Tax, Current Tax, and other tax reporting requirements.

Integrate tax data into financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Collaborating with the corporate finance department on financial reporting matters.
Project Management and Process:

Manage audits and projects related to tax compliance across various processes and jurisdictions.

Collaborate with IT and other departments to streamline tax processes and enhance reporting systems.

Identify opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency in tax calculations and submissions.
Risk Management and Transfer Pricing:

Develop policies to mitigate tax exposure and ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations.

Develop and implement transfer pricing documentation and policies.

Manage cross-border transactions and ensure reporting entities adhere to OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) standards.

Conduct in-depth legal research on global and individual company tax regulations.
Tax Strategy Development and International Taxation:

Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement long-term tax strategies.

Stay updated on global tax trends and advise on international tax implications.

Manage cross-border taxation requirements for foreign subsidiaries, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax positions.

Implement tax optimization strategies and drives efficiencies through advanced analytics.
Stakeholder Management and Documentation Review:

Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate advice and monitor their performance.

Review contracts and tenders for tax implications.

Ensure all tax-related documentation is complete, accurate, and readily available for audits and reporting.
Data Management and Reporting:

Payables: Ensure accurate and timely payments to suppliers, monitor aging and prepayment balances, prepare local and foreign payments, follow up for statements of account, coordinating commercial activities, monitoring, and closing inter-division and inter-company payables, and accounting for invoices.
