Description of Work
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Management Preferences:
Documented knowledge of case management practices, or supportive counseling techniques and/or interviewing techniques for intake assessments.
Salary Range: $37,377.00 - $65,408.00
This position is located at Dan River Prison Work Farm, Caswell, NC. Dan River Prison Work Farm is a minimum-custody prison housing male offenders. The largest inmate population consists of minimum custody offenders.
Reporting to Correctional Program Supervisor I, employees in this class are required to complete Domestic Violence Facilitator certification and provide programs for the rehabilitation of offenders in the prison system. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist with teaching 40 hours of Domestic Violence from approved curriculum.
Screen and assign offenders from all minimum custody facilities across the state.
Plan and facilitate graduation for offenders after course completion.
Maintain case manager responsibilities
Developing case plans, answering and following up on offender questions and problems, and making recommendations to the classification committee.
Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders,
such as offender work assignments, work release, education, or recreation as well as transition planning and
coordinating.
Planning and coordinate transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). The selected candidate will work Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Hours may vary at times depending on the business needs of the facility.

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
